    BCS Health Informatics Scotland (HIS)

Strathcylde Technology Innovation Centre, Glasgow, UK, 11 & 12 October 2016

The BCS HIS conference has become the largest eHealth / Health Informatics conference in Scotland thanks to the dedication and efforts of Dr. Paul Woolman who was conference Chair for 6 years, from 2008 to 2014. In 2015, Dr Bouamrane - previously the Academic Research track Chair - took over from Paul as conference Chair.

A key feature of our conference is that we have an excellent mix of speakers from Government, the NHS, industry exhibitors and academics from all the main universities of Scotland. Having successfully introduced an academic research track in 2012, the 2015 conference saw a number of new initiatives, including the introduction of an ‘Industry & Implementation’ track, where industry exhibitors can present their technology solutions 'in context' through selected implementation case studies. We have now also introduced within the conference program Special Interest Group (SIG) seminars. In 2016, Dr Trevor Lakey, Health Improvement and Inequalities Manager at NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and Diane Rasmussen Pennington, Lecturer in Information Systems at the University of Strathclyde jointly organised a e-Mental Health Special Interest Group workshop. A summary of the workshop activities is included in the conference proceedings.
